Reliance Jio has launched a new offer, named Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan, to provide customers with free services for three months. The new offer comes soon after the company agreed to withdraw the Jio Summer Surprise offer after a TRAI order asked for it be cancelled. The new Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer is open to new and existing customers, and provides unlimited data, free SMSs, Jio apps subscription, and of course free voice calls - customers just need to subscribe to the Jio Prime service,
and buy recharge of Rs. 309 or Rs. 509.

Reliance Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer vs Jio Summer Surprise offer

Apart from the slightly higher price points, one major difference between the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan and the Jio Summer Surprise offers is that customers had the option to buy recharges of Rs. 999 or higher values - which provided no daily FUP - with the latter, but there seems to no such option on the Jio website right now.
The Jio.com website and MyJio app show that the actual tariffs for the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 recharge are Rs. 349 and Rs. 549, but the operator is giving a Rs. 40 discount at present.
In a statement, Reliance Jio said, "With this [offer], Jio extends the benefits of a superior and advanced technology to take India to global digital leadership. The announcement also marks another step in Jio’s commitment to continuously delight its customers and enable them to live a fully digital life."
Reliance Jio promised to withdraw the Jio Summer Surprise offer after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said that it should be pulled as it does not comply with the existing regulatory framework. The country's youngest telco on Thursday agreed to cancel the offer, but continued enrolments till four days later. However, with the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, customers will be able to continue enjoying the free services till June, the same as users of Jio Summer Surprise offer users.

Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer - how it works

The Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer is aimed at customers who were unable to avail the Jio Summer Surprise offer benefits before it was pulled officially, as well as new customers. In order to get the benefits of the new offer, users need to subscribe to Jio Prime membership plan and buy the Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 recharge by April 15 in order to "to avoid degradation and/ or discontinuation of services." Those who are already part of the Jio Summer Surprise promotion will not get the benefits of Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, but then they are already enjoying 3 months of 'free' usage.
Jio Prime users will be able to get the free Reliance Jio services for 84 days (3 recharge cycles of 28 days) with the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 recharges. Customers who are yet to sign up for Jio Prime or who are new users will have to buy the Rs. 408 (Rs. 99 Jio Prime subscription + Rs. 309 pack) or Rs. 608 (Rs. 99 + Rs. 509) recharge in order to get the free services for three cycles of 28 days. Once you buy the recharge, you can use Reliance Jio services for 84 days. The tariffs are only marginally more expensive than the original recharge values of Rs. 303 and Rs. 499 for the 1GB and 2GB data benefits, respectively.

Mobile Apps & Tricks

AppLock

AppLock is a free Android app that comes with a lot of options. You can pay for it, get premium features, and no advertising. Or you can view advertising, get the premium features, and not pay anything. Finally, you can use it ad-free, but without premium features. The choice is yours. The app itself is a simple, but powerful app that allows you to lock your apps up tight with passwords so that snooping eyes can’t see them. This is great if you have nosy roommates, kids, or if you just want some piece of mind. You can use the app for free with or without ads (your choice). The ad-free version has a few features missing, but the ads will unlock those features as though you paid for it.

Credit Karma

Credit Karma is a fun little financial app. What it does is let you check your credit score once per year for free. On top of that, the app will notify you when there are major changes to your credit score. The app offers some other things too, such as potential credit cards that you may qualify for based on your credit score. You don't have to accept those if you don't want to. It's a simple, easy way to check out your credit and start fixing things if needed. It's one of the more underrated free Android apps.

Google Drive Suite

The Google Drive suite are a group of applications that are all directly integrated into Google Drive. The apps include Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Photos, and Google Keep along with the actual Google Drive app itself. These apps focus primarily on office use for documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows but also work for note taking, backing up your photos, and storing whatever file you can think of. The best part is that they’re all free unless you need more than 15GB of storage on Google Drive. Most people don’t. These are all great free Android apps.

Groupon

Groupon is one of the best and most popular coupon apps available on Android. Using this application is very simple. You browse it for coupons for goods or services you want and then you take those coupons shopping with you in order to get discounts. It doesn’t have coupons for every little thing but any penny saved is a penny earned. You can track which coupons you’ve used, take advantage of deals instantly, and a lot more. The design isn’t half bad either. It's one of those free Android apps that are worth a shot.

Maps and Waze

Google Maps and Waze are two navigation apps. Google Maps will give you turn-by-turn directions, let you view businesses (and their reviews), and all kinds of other stuff. Waze is another navigation app. It lets you check out the traffic along your route. Google Maps is definitely the more powerful of the two. However, Wave is less bloated. That makes it a good option if you're looking for something simple. You can't go wrong either way.

Useful Android Tips And Tricks

You Should (or) must Know

1. Disable Mobile Data

Whenever you don’t need to stay connected, disabling the Mobile Data can help keep your smartphone battery from draining too quickly. Turning off mobile data is as easy as:
  1. Going to Settings > Data Usage.
  2. Disable Mobile data by toggling the setting from ON to OFF.
2. Set Mobile Data Limit

Want to keep track of how far your usage is from your monthly mobile data limit? If you have ICS and above, there is a feature which lets you keep track of how much of the quota you have left.
  1. Head over to Settings > Data Usage.
  2. Set your data limit by dragging the orange line to reflect your monthly quota.
  3. Set your data usage cycle based on when your “month” starts and ends, and you’re done.
You will be alerted once you hit the limit you have set. Note that the tracked data usage of your phone may vary slightly than your carrier’s tracking.

3. Disable automatic App Updates
  1. Open Play Store and head over to Settings.
  2. Tap on Auto-update apps.
  3. Choose Do not auto-update apps.

4. Changing Default Apps

  1. Go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Swipe right and look for the All tab.
  3. Select the app you want to remove as default.
  4. Tap on Clear defaults.
 5. Disable Animations

Here’s a tip on how to make your Android device run a bit smoother: disable its animations. You will need to have access to Developer Options which can be found under Settings or About device.

Note: For some phones, you may need to go to Build number and tap on it repeatedly until you see “You are now a developer!”. Developer options are now enabled.

Under enabled Developer options, look for Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale. Then, turn them off (disable) them one at a time.
